Had my first speech for class last night. I messed up. Again, I wish I could place the blame on someone or thing else but I can't. When I practiced my speech I would complete my speech in about 2-3 minutes. The speech couldn't be less than four minutes or more than 4 minutes 30 seconds. So me and my smart self says that I can go alittle more into detail than planned and speak slower, so I would work out my 1-2 minutes. It worked a little tooo well! As I was in my conclusion, time was called and I was not allowed to say anymore. I didn't finish my speech! I was right at the end and didn't finish!!!! So I know I got points deducted for that. Also in my unrehearsed detailing, I said "umm" twice. We were already told that we would get deducted for fillers and I know I had at least 2. There is nothing more I can do about the speech, it has been given and there is no turning back. Maybe next time.
After speech I have Dr. Vodka. He started a new chapter and it's not clicking with me. So from at the time being upset from my speech st8 to new material in math that STILL doesn't make logical since to me, I just accepted the fact that my GPA will go down this semester and I will move on.
By time I got home I was in "f it" mode. I had to bake some chicken that was thawing in the fridge. After I threw it in the oven I played some music and danced around. Studying was not on the agenda last night...well it was but my mindset at the time was "f it". So I do my thing and go to bed. A little after midnight I get a phone call from a blocked number. There is one person who I talk to that comes up as blocked, so I answer thinking it was him and no one says anything. I hang up and I think to myself "mmmmm what smells good? Smells like chicken.......THE CHICKEN!!!!!!" I hopped out the bed expecting to see raging fire bursting out my stove, but thankfully all I saw was 4 extra extra extra crispy chicken quarters sizzling. After giving my God thanks I started to wonder.....What if that was God calling to let me know I still had my chicken on in the stove? Interesting.....

dude that's nuts, and I knwo all about the "f it" mode. I am in that right now. My professor gave me an extention on my paper kuz he knows it won't be done, haha, oh well. But yea, I have been completely goofing off this week. I got NOTHING done that I needed to. and I have a shit load of stuff due today and tomorrow because spring break is next week! oh well... fuck it...
and yea, the bars around my way opens at 7am and closes at 2am...Some wait til 9, but not many, they want the prime customers (the ones who roll out of bed thinking about the bottle)...
That was strange....
What if that was God calling to let me know I still had my chicken on in the stove?
OMG!
hmmmmm What if it was God calling? Awww you will do better the next time!

Mel - @ least they gave an extention! Spring Break is comming!
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
Luv - It was just a thought I had. If my phone didn't ring, I would have been dead to the world till my alarm went off this morning! Just glad my place is still standing!
MzA - Yeah, I just gotta be tight on the rest of my speeches. Being that this was the first time I *fingers crossed* hope she isn't tooo hard with her grading. I won't know till she gives me my grade.
TG - There's no other choice, thanks for the encouragement.
That is strange...And you want to know something else that is strange...the name Dr. Vodka...Sound like a frat boys nickname...I'll keep youposted
sorry about your speech. i'm sure you'll do better next time cuz you've got this learning experience under your belt.
as for the call being from god, i wouldn't doubt it. either way, somebody was looking out.
Stac - I usually don't answer blocked numbers, but being that it was after midnight I assumed it was a friend of mine. No telemarketer should be calling me at that hour!!! LOL
GCH - Dr. Vodka is the name I gave him cuz his breath smells of alcohol and he always be drinking a clear liquid in a soda bottle during class. LOL
Nikki - glad someone is looking out for me cuz apparently I wasn't! LOL
I never like giving oral presentaions in class. Now I have to present at a conference I'm going to in May. I have to present in front of "real professionals"! Girl I will probably die if they start asking me questions that I don't know the answer to.
IS- Thanks for dropping by, 'preciate it.
Nic - You'll be fine, you got awhile to fine tune your speech. Just glad it's you and not me! LOL
