Life is still uneventful. I spent my evening looking at videos like Jack E Brown dance in his underwear to LL Cool J over and over again. Being that I have dial up *and like it* at home this prevents me from knowing when folk call me. I finally get offline and I notice I have messages, 2 of which are from Kuntry. The first one says to call him back, the second one 2 hours later says something like....hey this Kuntry, so you don't want to talk to me no more or something, call me. I debated whether or not to return the calls. I did and it goes st8 to voicemail. I leave a message like I am at work stating that I was returning his call. I get a call back within 5 mins and we do the generic greeting then talks about how he got injured at work yesterday. To which my reply was "That's messed up, is it broke?" He replies no, I say that's good that it not broke and leave it like that. He is silent for a second giving the impression like I was supposed to say something else. If he caught me last week I would have asked if he needed something and all that good stuff, but I am still in F it mode so I remained silent.
Once he figured out that I wasn't gonna speak he starts going on about how his financial aid went through for school and this that and the other. Think he said thank you for getting my FAFSA st8 or at least for helping him period? Exactly. As he is talking on and on about himself and what's going on with him, I zoned out and was thinking, this man didn't even ask how my day was, what's going on with me, how I'm doing....nothing, just Kuntry Kuntry Kuntry. So I say a few, that's greats, and I guess he picked up that I was no longer paying attention to him cuz he got quiet after talking about God knows what and says that I seem busy so he'll talk to me later. "Okay, have a good night" which took him cuz normally when he said that I'd say in jest "Oh you ain't getting off the phone that easy" and laugh. Oh well....
It's weird. I am a listener by nature so I love when people like to talk cuz I love to listen, but every now and again at least pretend to care like you want to know what's going on with me. Don't ask me a question just so you can talk about your similar situation...made up example
"So how much is it taking to fill your tank up"
"oh such and such dollars"
"It's taken me such and such dollars, matter of fact when I was at the gas station yesterday bladay bladay blah happened"
The only reason they ask me about gas was so they could tell their gas story. I have alot of family, friends, and associates, that do that! I mean dang, does it always have to be about you or always come back to you???? I know my life is not exciting but sometimes neither are yalls! Let's not have the majority of conversations be me asking 1001 questions like I am some kind of detective!
This is getting into another topic and I don't feel like jacking my mood so I'm going to read blogs....lata!

The F it mode might not be a bad idea. Watch out tho, you may catch yourself having to re-read Nikki's post about how to get rid of dudes that dont get the message. LOL
Being in F it mode is sometimes a good mode to be in. He could have at least asked how your day was or been like if it wasn't for you my financial aid might not have gone through I mean dang anywho some people only see and hear themselves.
Sometimes I find myself adding a story in about something I've done when someone is sayin somethin about themselves...I have tried to stop, am working on it lol but I'm a talker by nature I just love to talk....is there a group for that LOL

Honey, it's funny cuz he just called a few minutes ago "to see how I was doing" I won't lie, it was made me smile, but I think it came from the conversation last night so whatever...
There is nothing wrong with being a talker, but it is wrong when you ask someone something just so you can talk about yourself! It's one thing to hear something and it remind you of a story, but it's another thing to provoke it yah know!
That can be kind of annoying when people constantly bring the topic back to themselves, especially when you really need to vent or have something important to say.
I'm a listener too and give people plenty of opportunity to talk. Sometimes I just wished people were more intuitive or something. We're not on a talk show so don't try to set me up to segue you into whatever it is you want to talk about.

I am glad you know what I am talking about! Just cause we enjoy listening don't mean we don't want to talk every now and again!

Nikki your so silly. Like I said, I don't have an issue about people talking about themselves to me, just not all the time. LOL

I just decised to stop attempting to talk about myself at all in conversation. That way I can't get mad at those one way conversations.
