Not that I don't like spending the night somewhere other than my place, but there is no bed like your own, no matter the fact that I want another one.
So yeah, I got off at 3:30 Friday and even if I wasn't going to see Kuntry, I think I would have left early Friday. I was staring at my computer and I just could not make myself work to save my life. I didn't even want to blink around the internet, I just wanted away from the computer and to be outside. So I left.
Kuntry needs a fan in his bedroom STAT! I am close to naming his place HELL! LOL
So yeah, the slumber party was fun. Only one of the little girls invited showed but it was basically because this is the first weekend the kids are out of school and most families made plans already. But it was still all good. They were allowed to stay up as long as they wanted, eat what they wanted, and pretty much do what they wanted within reason. They dropped about 3am! This morning while the kids were outside I got a chance to watch Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Crash! OMG!!!! Now I understand why Crash got the big AA over Brokeback. I mean I like Brokeback but Crash was on some different level IMO! I will be buying that movie when I get some *ahem* extra money. Side note, I emailed the fam and told them I wasn't going on the cousin's trip! I simply just can't afford it right now, I cancelled the weekend at the beach next weekend 2! I hate being responsible sometimes....anyways....
I called Kuntry while the girls where watching Return of the WereRabbit or something like that and he sounded depressed. Being that he was at a fight party and everyone in the background was having a good time, I was concerned. Turns out he was drunk out of his mind! I didn't like that very much. At least his boys got him home....
When I got home I saw that my petunia's bloomed! Pooka and I are excited! I got a planted petunia for mother's day and it's finally bloomed! Go me! Go Pooka! It's our birthday! Pooka is the only living thing that I have that I haven't killed so this plant surviving and blooming right pretty is a big deal! ROFL
I found out this weekend that a friend of mine got into an accident. On her way to pick up her daughter she hit a slick spot, her truck started spinning, hit a dump truck, hit a cement wall, crossed 2 lanes of traffic and her truck flipped twice landing upside down. The medics had to pull her out the back window. NO BROKE BONES, NO SPRAINS, NO CUTS, NO BRUISES just some soreness on one side. Her nerves are shot passed the earths core, but she walked away, everyone involved walked away.......GLORY AMEN!
While in the truck upside down, she called 911, then she called her significant other....
Even tho' I shouldn't think negative, I could help to think to myself "what if she died in that truck while on the phone with her SO?" By knowing her SO, they would have had to be committed to a mental institution, on the real! I also thought to myself that that is some real love right there, in the mist of this trauma, she called the SO. That says a lot!
That bit of info made me think. If that was me....after God and 911, I wonder who I would have called, if anyone at all....

Sounds like you had a good weekend, and your friend recieved a blessing from on high! Glad nobody was injured. I'm anxious to get a small dog, kinda quiet in the apartment.

The call thing, that's the kind of thing i never ever think about, when you're in such situations you tend to do what feels right for you without having to think about it.

I feel the exact same way about Crash. That movie was so moving.

Your friend was definitely blessed. If my brain would have functioned enough to make phone calls, after calling 911 I think the very next person I would have tried to get in touch with would have been my daughter. I think about how I NEVER, EVER hang up the phone or leave the house without telling her I love her, because I always think that if something happens to either one of us she will remeber that no matter what I love her.

Trina - Crash was excellent! It is very important to tell folks you love that you love them. It's one of my NY resolutions that I have been working on. As much as I love my people, it's so weird for me to actually say it to everyone but my kid.....
i've had a couple of accidents like that.....i know the feeling.
My first and last 'official' and planned sleep over was my Sr. yr in HS. Very late, but I couldn't get down with random people. We were up until about 6.30 am and we still talk about it to this day. Very much fun!!

Hmm sounds like you had a nice weekend as well. I hate hot rooms cause I can't sleep without cover even in the heat LOL....I'm soo glad your friend is ok, that says alot and God truly had his hand on the situation. Congrats to you and Pooka on the not killing the petunia LOL...glad that Pooka has made it this long without you killing her LOL..I'm jokin

and 'crash' was da bomb. one of the best movies i've ever seen.
praise god your friend was alright. that sounds like a horrific crash. the fact she survived isn't just a blessing, that's a miracle! i always get so afraid when i see accidents on the street. i always pray the person(s) involved is/are alright.
