Weekend was chill. Saturday I was in lounge mode darn near alllllllll day. I got nothing done. Friday I rented Open Season, so my kid would finally hush about it, from one of those dollar a day rental machines at the grocery store. We watched that along with some of her other movies in different languages which was kinda cool.
The novice grill master finally made a mistake in grilling Sunday. I had this nice piece of beef that wasn't 100% unfrozen. So being smart I figured I'd add a few more bricks, put the meat on right away and cover the grill...*sigh* I watch more and more smoke come out the grill and figured it would die down so I went out the kitchen. Pooka then tells me something is wrong and I hop up to see that my grill is so hot it is peeling from the outside! I got everything under control and the meat did have ummmm a little extra flavor on one side but it still came out good believe it or not! LOL
When my beef was done I went outside to get it and lil miss barefeet Pooka was behind me. I told her to stay inside but she decided to do her own thing and got a nice long splinter in her big toe! Both ends were under the skin so that meant Dr. Mommy had to come do her thing. With a razor, neosporin, and a fairly odd parents band-aid and one of her favorite cartoons on the tv, Dr. Mommy got half of it out. Pooka started to look at what I was doing and got to acting out talking about how much it hurts, get off her, and that she wanted her daddy! Fine! I thought her being on the phone with him would keep her chill enough to get the rest out but she still kept jerking her foot so I gave up. Hopefully the piece I didn't get will eventually work its way out or Pooka will work with me so I can finish my surgery. At the very least she will listen to me the next time I tell her to stay inside.
I didn't pack yet for my trip. I have a general idea of what I am going to take but I haven't physically started. LOL I was talking to my mom and she was telling me about how her, aunt diva, and the grand diva just got back from the whole mani/pedi treatment and how she got her eyebrows done and facial hairs plucked! WHAT??? Let me find out my folks trying to get all fly and what not! I may not get my nails done or nothing taken off my face...but Thursday I will be leaving work earlier than I was planning to get an ultrafresh pedi. I can paint my own nails with a clear coat. They not gonna have me looking like the busted family member! Shoooot! LOL
A few folks called me this weekend which was cool and appreciated, but I got into this nonchalant attitude and didn't really want to come across as me not caring about what was being said. Therefore I didn't talk very long to some folks. Someone had brought the whole DON I. thing up and my personal opinions about that whole situation don't really match the mass opinion of my sistas and brothas and I didn't really feel like defending my opinion. Nor did I feel the want for folks to see where I was coming from.
I didn't hit the trails mainly cuz I didn't feel like it and because it was haaaaawt this weekend. I didn't look at the news but just by going outside I knew it was hot enough for me to want to go back inside. Watching the news this morning I found out that we were (and still will be) in the mid to upper 80s! No wonder! Once we get out of the 70s it is too hot for me to be outside! ROFL! How am I gonna survive the Jamaican heat???
Well I got both classes tonight *YAY* I read the chapters for my test tonight yet didn't really read it so I can't say that I am prepared *shrug*. I am kinda like whatever at this point. I didn't do so hot on a really easy test I had in my Intro class last week cuz he asked for specific numbers and the few multiple choice that were there were like...How many apples did John Smith eat? A.1 B.2 C.3 D.4 E. none of the above, meaning you had to know the exact answer not the round about answer! Normally multiple choice questions give you ranges and 2 choices that don't make sense. Whatever.

I'm going to have to ask you turn in your apron and tongs over that incident. While we're at it I'm going to need your thongs too. Don't ask questions just hand them over.
Gasp @ you imitating Dr. Mengele on poor little Pooka. LOL!
You should really get to packing. Tick tock, woman, tick tock!
Pack and please take me with you. PLEASE. I can sneak into the suitcase. I need to get away.
I am sorry Pooka got the splinter. I never would have thought to grab a razor.

Hey I wouldn't have had to do it if she followed directions!!!! She will learn that sometimes...if only sometimes, mommy is right! LOL
Yeah yeah I know tick tock tick tock! I am on it!
DNT, if I wasn't trying to pack light I would try to cram you in a suitcase or something :-)
Me too, Razors are sharper and more precise. Easier to slice the layers of skin a little at a time.
Imma try, U2
Honey, Yeah don't think PR isn't on my list! We gotta get out sometimes or we'd go (c-lo voice) CRAAAAAAZAYYYYY!
I am willing to bet she won't go in the back without houseshoes or something on her feet! LOL
Tantrum, I'll take your word on it. Many of the touristy pics I've seen are always very tranquil and calm looking. I know it all don't look like that but hope where I am does :-)
My fingers are crossed for the same. I would hate for it to get infected or something. Thankfully its not too too far under her skin.
You know next time not to put an almost unfrozen piece of meat on the grill. lol
