She's legal now

My homie is married now. I know she is glad its over now. She was stunning, her girls were beautiful and her husband and his fellas where sharp. Now besides that there were some glitches. They put the wedding together in about 3 months and in some ways you could tell. Then add that her coordinators were not on their mark so that made things worst.

The wedding started an hour and a 1/2 late partially from some last minute stuff. Then my homie has a "that" side of the family. You know the side that you don't really talk about to people? Yeah, "that" side. All I am going to say is some of "that" side came to the wedding in cook out attire (sneakers and everything) and some came to the reception in street clothes. The ones at the reception started acting like "that" side of the family with the wait staff to the point the bride had to come down from her table and calm things down. *sigh* I am not a fashion diva by any standards, nor Miss Prim and Proper, but I know some things you just don't do.

Being that I only knew the bride and the maid of honor I felt lonely. I RSVP'ed for me and a guest thinking Pooka would be here for the summer so there was an empty seat next to me. I really should have drafted someone to come with me to keep me company cuz the bride was busy hugging and talking to all her guest. Her maid of honor was pretty much helping the bride out and making things run smooth like her "coordinators" were supposed to. After awhile of sitting in my assigned seat by myself at the table I was joined by the photographer, his wife and kid and another friend of the bride. The wife had some gorgeous dreads that she has been growing for 10 years come October! So of course we spark up convo about hair and what she uses, so forth and so on. The friend who was there kept cracking me up with her ummmmm observations about folks at the reception. She also filled me in on who's who and gave me a little background info behind the scenes of this wedding. She helped clear up a few questions that came to mind. Questions like why her biological mother was not mentioned in the program and watched the wedding a pew up from me vs. the first one where the parents and grandparents are supposed to be. After the cake was cut and they did all the wedding stuff I hugged the bride, shook the grooms hand, hugged the MoH and bounced. Even in talking and laughing with the ladies at my table I still felt sorta out of place, then I didn't want to witness "that" side of the family after the alcohol got in them good.

I didn't work out yesterday and I have decided to give the studio membership the pause button till my money looks a little better. I may do a 5 dollar Friday class here and there till then. I really needed to give my body some recovery time so I chilled yesterday. I did hit the trail first thing this morning tho'! It felt like old times cuz I got up, went to the restroom, got dressed and was out the door. I didn't really wake up good till I was already at the trail. So now I am up and I already have the trail behind me. Back in the day I would hit the trail first thing, come home, shower, then go back to bed. Then when I woke up again I would smile knowing I got the exercise portion of my day complete already. That is sorta how I feel now. :-)

Well gotta go! Closets don't organize themselves now do they?

An hour and a half late? I'd be a bit annoyed sitting there marinating in heat and anger.

I don't understand why people invite that side of the family to events you want to keep stress and drama free.

I'm sure people will be hiding from you now next time you mention going to a wedding based on reading this. LOL

When you're done organizing your closets feel free to fly up and do mine too.

Yep! It was very hard to remain patient.

I don't understand either Freaky! But it was their day and they invite who they want. *shrug*

They can hide all they want, I'm drafting somebody if it's a non family wedding where I don't know folks type thing. LOL

Uhhhh yeah! Mmmmm hmmmm! Sure thing! ROFL I didn't want to do mine!

the funny thing is, I know when I was little my mother used to avoid telling that side of family anything until it's too late. That or have two separate events.
sad but true.

So other than the mishaps, the day wedding was nice and your friend is married.

Wow, that is sad. Kinda makes me thankful my fam don't have to do that! LOL

Her day was really nice other wise. The sun was shining and her and her hubby kept grins on their faces...well except when her peeps started to get a little rowdy, but that was temporary. The smile came back soon after. LOL

I'm sorry..there are just some people who are NOT invited to my performances...there is no question that they will not be present at my wedding.

lateness annoys me to no end when it comes to stuff liek this...ugh.

I feel you.

I think I could have stood 10-15 minutes...but an hour and a half was a bit much. Many people were bothered.

Yes, you just moving in does still apply! *cheese*
