2005's taking it's final breaths

This time of year is when most people reflect on the events of the past year and figure out what they can do better the upcoming year. The most important thing that sticks in my mind is that God saw fit that in 2005 a few natural disasters occur throughout the world, taking many lives and taking away all the material items some people had. I am wondering what God is trying to tell us down here? I am just thankful I am alive and was not immediately affected by any of the events......

I try not to make many New Years resolutions, but here are some things I will try to make a better attempt at accomplishing in 06.

To read more.....sad to say, I don't read unless a teacher assigns a grade to it...if their is a buzz or controversy over the book...or the play/movie is coming to town and I want to read the book first to compare.

To go out more.....to the museums, the theater, the movies

To learn how to be alone.....I can't stand being alone, but now with Pooka gone for at least a month to seven months, I have to learn to like being alone...even on a day like today, New Years Eve!

To make some serious steps towards my health.....all my numbers at the doctors office are excellent but I still have to take better care of myself.

To be more stern and mean.....I am way too nice and that's got to go. I don't like confrontation but I have to find a way to harden my backbone and still not argue.

That's about it. I think that these are realistic and that I can make real steps towards these goals.
