Early Tuesday

I am blogging from home where I am supposed to cuz I am gonna talk about work! LOL Not about Big Chips or Mainhater *it's her last week b4 retiring* but about a lady I'll call Temp. We have a lot of temps in my department but Temp was a little different. Temp isn't slow by any means, it just takes her longer to grasp concepts. Training her was a challenge but I kept being that cheerleader and I felt that in due time she'll catch on. Well it's been a few months and she hasn't really caught on like she should. I am one of the 3 people in my office that have to overlook and sign off on Temps work as well as others that do what she does. So my supervisor comes to me and my office neighbor while we were actually discussing work matters and asks us how Temp is progressing. My neighbor told my sup that she hadn't been working Temps work for awhile, and even though I knew I had, I said "Yeah me neither". We were instructed to let her know how her work was as soon as we worked it and we said our okays then she left.

This is not the first time my sup has asked about her work in particular and I am scared they may let her go. I like Temp on a personal level. She can get a little loud at times and her laugh can be heard around the building. But she is a nice God fearing single mother trying to make it. She tries really hard. I know she does. Others crack the whip at her and she comes to me to talk about it. I try to give her my best "Do the best you can and don't let them stress you" speech as much as I can. I just don't want them to let her go. I told her to pay attention to her work and not to worry about the quantity of work she is doing, just pay attention to the quality. I know my sup will come to me soon to inquire on her again and I don't know how I will get out of it without striking her chances of continued employment with us.

With Mainhater leaving, there will be a lot of responsibility shifting going on next week. I have observed that my admin and sup are paying attention to what we are doing as a whole, so starting tomorrow I will be on my p's and q's, specially with this internet thing! That's another reason I am blogging now vs. tomorrow morn @ work. As far as this job is away from my actual career field and as much as I am getting burnt out, I need this job to eat and pay bills. Plus what job is gonna let a newbie go to school for a unrelated field of study and pretty much let them decide their own hours???? I am sure it's pretty few of them out there. I emailed my sup and admin my schedule for May-July *summer session 1 and 2* for approval. I am asking a bit much for what I need my schedule to be for the second session and I fear they may not okay it. But I had to ask.

On a completely different note, I need potty training help. Many of the folks who cross my blog don't have kids, but if you do and your child is trained, I need some advice. Email me at lanique57@hotmail.com if you can spread a word of wisdom or 2.
