Sunday will be my blog birthday! Yippee! So I thought I'd hit the reverse button and give out potential gifts. Yah see I work for the gov't, state treasurer to be exact and I am given out info that may help you or someone you know...

Click on owners then click find property on the side tab
Choose any state that you've ever lived in
Go to that state treasurers web page
Navigate it to the unclaimed property search *each treasurer has their page set up differently*
Look your name up *even previous names or names you go by*
Let me know if you have anything, especially if you found your name in NC
Even look up yah mamma an dem! LOL
There are A LOT of scam sites out there that tell people that they have unclaimed property. A huge clue that a site is a scam is that they will charge you for information. The unclaimed property program in each state is a completely free service! There is only ONE program in each state. Please be careful of the scam artist and sites out there!

Actually, instead of going through the state....which takes anywhere from a month to a month and a half, I contacted the company that owed me the funds directly. That's why it didn't take that long.
In return, once I cashed the check they would inform the state that I had indeed received the funds.
