DC Road Trip!

Allow me to preface this by stating that the trip has already happened and I honestly and truthfully had no time to pay visit to anyone. So put down the phone and clear the email. I know I always say that I will tell someone when I was going home, but this here was out the blue! Let's start with Friday morning........

Woke up, did the daily thing, got back to work at 1:00. Was informed I was apart of a project committee and we had a meeting at 1:30 in another building. I don't have to dress up for work and I REALLY don't dress up on Fridays. So I am up in a meeting with a bunch of men that are not my age or complexion with my tied scarf, tee shirt and jean shorts! Doh! You can't imagine how good I felt when a sista co worker of mine and another sista from another dept. came in! It was a weird feeling b4 they came. It was weird that I was carpooling with the 2nd highest link on the food chain, and to ice the cake we ran into the absolute top of the food chain! UGGGGHH why did we have to run into THE MAN???? Oh this day couldn't get any better! The other supervisor that wasn't respecting my gansta the other day did give me my props in front of the good ole boys and that was kinda hot. Even though my dress didn't say professional, my manner did. These project meetings are going to be every week so that means once a week I need to be sharp. Well it's not a need, but it prevents standing out in a negative way.

We get back to the office and my 1st cousin calls me up and tells me that she is going up to see our grandmother and wanted to know if I wanted to "RIDE". Of course I said yes and about 4:30-5 am Saturday morning my first cousin, her son, my grandmothers sister and her daughter showed up to my door. Being that we were coming back Sunday I just packed night clothes for me and Pooka, 3 outfits for her, one for me and hygiene stuff. Period. My grandmother has been going through some things and the point was to sit and be with her for awhile and to take care of some things for her. When I threw my bag in the back of the van my 1st cousin gave me her keys and asked me to drive! Granted from Raleigh to DC is a short 4hr trip, but I swore she asked me to RIDE with them, not DRIVE! Anywho.....

We get to DC, visit my grandma at work, hit Union Station really fast *we all were looking a sight*, went to my grandma's house then went back out 30 minutes later to pick up some things for my grandma. Now I am NOT a shopper. I much rather get what we supposed to get and leave, but my cousins are shopping women so we went here there and everywhere and it wore me down. I did find 2 pair of work pants for the grand total of $4.18. I should play 418, the number has come up more than once! LOL But anyways, I am always hyped about finding a killer sale especially if it was something for me! I am a big girl and big girl clothes do not come cheap! So I had to buy the 2 pair of pants.

After we got back to my g-ma's, Babydaddy was at the crib. He needs a haircut something bad, but he was dressed okay. His female "friends" should be fired for not cutting that man's hair or making him go to the barber! If he comes down here next month like that, I am cutting it! So we are all chilling in the living room and he asked me if Pooka needed anything. I started spouting stuff off and he basically asked if I wanted to go pick some of that stuff up today! Ummmmm yeah! So we hit up the local mall. The mall used to be called Prince Georges Plaza, now it's called The malls at Prince Georges...what in the world is that about? They renewed some things but it is still Prince Georges Plaza to me. On the way there I prayed that I would not run into anyone I knew. I was tired, dressed down, and irritable. The only person out of the 3 of us (Babydaddy, Pooka, and I) Pooka was the best looking thing. I was sooooooo tired after I got back. My fam was in soul food mode and I couldn't assist like I wanted to :-( I just lounged on the couch till a blogger called me and told me he was around the way. Great, now I gotta muster up some energy to meet him in a few minutes. Being lazy I walk out the door in my socks and stand there till this BIG OLE SUV with a SMALL FRAMED DUDE rolls by.

It's Anf-a-nee (j/k) you know The Alpha Male. He is a cutie, and I am not typing that because he's prolly gonna read this to see what I say, but he is a real cutie. I am talking I had to remind myself he don't play my game during our conversation type cute! He looks like the pictures on his page, but he doesn't. He's younger and better looking in person. I think it's because his face was clean, his haircut was fresh, and his clothes were krispy. His aura is very similar to my girlfriend who throws all the parties...very friendly, very social, the type of person who could work a room. Now before I am called a hypocrite, the conversation lasted about 5 to 10 minutes and he came by to drop off "The Ties That Bind". That is the movie he wrote and directed. I was planning on buying it and doing transactions via mail, but when I found out I was coming up I got up with him. This way I know he got his money and he knows I got my movie. I haven't watched the movie yet but will do a review when I do. So him coming by was not for a visit, it was business!!! LOL

The funniest part about our mini meeting was what happened after Anf-ney drove off and I went back in the house. My fam hit me with some craziness!

"Why you didn't invite your friend in?"
"What movie is that?"
"He didn't want a plate?"
"He has a nice truck"
"You should have made him a plate"

All this means that my cousins and dem was all up in the windows when I went outside! LOL I just gave them the movie to read the backside and told them I didn't invite him in because he had somewhere to be, which he did. Gotta love my nosey family!

The bug was placed in my ear about a get together I was invited to involving The Alpha Male , Bobby Brown Jr, , Rodney , Dizyaboy (whose blog is confusing me right about now), and Alex. I that hate that I didn't go, but 1) that was not the purpose of the trip 2) I didn't have "go out" clothes because the plan was to chill w/g-ma all day Saturday and 3) I had a take home final to complete, which I still have not typed up yet. So I have to wait until another time to meet the fleshed out version of those guys. I also heard that Terrancewas going to be in town today, but as you can see, I am back in NC :-(

We rolled out of my g-ma's driveway a tad b4 8am this morning and with one automobile malfunction scare, on and off traffic which frustrated my first cousin so much I had to take the wheel AGAIN, and 6 hours later. I am home again!

Now to type up my final for submission tomorrow morning...
