Sangin Diva (http://sangindiva.blogspot.com/) did a post about her best friend and how her best friend has been down with her for the long haul. Well I am sorta piggy backin' on that idea and wanted to blog a tad about the only 3 local folks that I can call a friend.
Ladykat, whom I would post her site up but she hasn't posted in forever is my girl. She always been such a gracious and generous person. I stopped posting about how my funds were lacking, but I was planning not to go to work tomorrow and find me away to hussle some gas money till payday next week. My DTE said 23! The plan was to hit the bank up first thing and see what they could do for me if anything.
See what had happened was...I planned on Babydaddy coming down tomorrow and him buying some more items for Pooka. I was going to use some of it for gas to cover me till my check. Well long story short, Babydaddy has money issues more serious than mine and will miss Pooka's first birthday since she's been born. It's killing him and he almost had me in tears on the phone. But life happens and Pooka will be just as happy seeing him in a few weeks as she would have this weekend. But you can't tell him that....anyways
So I get online when I got home and turn on my yahoo messenger. LadyKat chimes in asking me what's up and giving me details about her son's b-day party Saturday. I tell her I wouldn't be able to go and that I wouldn't be going much of nowhere anytime soon. She asks why, I tell her, she tells me to meet her at the gas station and she fills me up. She is a God send. What's funny is that while she was unloaded that stuff that's going on with her at the station *THANK GOD I AM SINGLE* she says that she told someone that if she ever won the powerball that she would pay her (new 2007 something or another car that I have never seen b4 in my life) car off and give it to me! That made me laugh. I guess she thought the van was too old. LOL Oh well! Hope she wins! :-)Part of me kinda tells me that part of the reason why she filled my tank up was to make sure I came to the party. This "kids party" is going to be "interesting" at best and I may have to break out my black and white striped shirt and black pants. We'll see what goes down.
Party Girl is my dawg. She is the only one out of the 3 that I never really done anything for cuz she has everything! But I call her a friend because she is always there when I need her, no matter what. It was in her house Pooka and I stayed when I left Babydaddy with that suitcase in my hand and nowhere to go. It was her money that saved me time after time. It was her parties where I was made to take food home cuz she knew I didn't have ish in the house. If I speak it, it's mine. I don't take her for granted and I give back and contribute what I can, even if it's just a case of beer. She has made me smile on some of my darkest days and no amount of money can ever replace that.
Puerto Rico is one of the first people I met in Raleigh. I don't get to talk to her much because like me, she has so much going on, talking on the phone doesn't happen much and when it does happen, it's not very long. Then add the fact that she don't like the computer so our communication is screwed. She has been a constant in my life and she is real! Very real! I know that if I called her right now angry at some dude and wanted to slash his tires and cause a scene, she'd be the one who's like "Let me get my sista to watch the kids and I'll be there in bout 15mins!" LOL Even though she works literally less than a mile from my place I hate that I rarely see her.
There are so many mushy and sentimental things I can say about all 3 of these people, but I'll leave it be. It's just while driving home after my fill up I got to thinking about local people in my life who have hung with me for the long haul and always been there for me.
