Off to the land of deep fried cokes and bbq sundaes!

Today I am working an outreach event at the state fair. It's kinda cool to be able to work outside to the office every now and again! For the record, fried coke is coke with some crunchy stuff in it and bbq sundae is a scoop of bbq with baked beans around it topped with cole slaw. How does YOUR stomach feel right now? LOL! There is still nothing going on on my side of the street so here's a meme care of BlkButterfly who's over on my left.

High School Meme:

Graduation Year : 98

1. Who were your best friend/friends? Are you all still best friends?
The Rainbow Coalition and Alpha Stomp Omega. TRC was a group of us that pretty much hung out everyday and were named that because many nationalities were represented in our little group. ASO is a step team I co-founded/help start. Thanks to myspace I pretty much keep in contact with all those knuckleheads, I can't really say we're still best friends today, but definitely friends. If I am supposed to name names my girl Tiff has been my "sister" since 2nd grade. OMG I've know her for about 20 years! GASP! Why does that make me feel old?

2. What sports did you play?
I was on the track and volleyball team. Is chess a sport?

3. What kind of car did you drive?
Every now and again I drove my mom's 76 or 74 Chevy Malibu named "The Green Machine"

4. It's Friday night, where were you?
Depended on what team/club/church function was going on.

5. Were you a party animal?
Nope, I went to some of the school parties but that's bout it.

6. Were you in the "In Crowd"?
I had a tendency to be in the right places with the right people at the right times.

7. Ever skip school?
Not in high school

8. Ever smoke?
Faked it

9. Were you a nerd?
Yes in the sense that folks knew I was smart and I was in AP courses, but not like the stuffy face always in a book nerd.

10. Did you get suspended/expelled?
No

11. Can you sing the school hymn?
No but I can play it on various instruments

12. Who was your favorite teacher/teachers?
My ultimate favorite teacher/coach/director/father figure/friend/counselor was Mr. E.M. Summers from my freshman to junior year he was our band director. He is just a magnificent man. I could do a lengthy blog just on how he affected his "children". But to give an example on how important and special and great he was, one of our band members got shot one night and he called Mr. Summers and Summers was there right at the hospital all early in the morning as if the call was about one of his 2 natural born sons. You could go and talk to him about ANYTHING. He thought us about life and the real world, I can't even explain it. Think Joe Clark magnified, great man that would kick your butt if need be...for real!

13. Favorite class?
Band, duh! LOL I have many favorite classes. Mr. Dieterle's chem class, Mr. Boise's biology class, Mr. Baez english class (I still remember most of the vocabulary words), the list goes on..

14. What was your schools full name?
Northwestern

15. School mascot?
Wildcat

16. Did you go to Prom?
Yes, the prom was "ight" but the great part was we got a tour of DC at like 2am. We stopped at a few memorials and just looked at the city. DC can be beautiful at times. I always said I would take someone special on a romantic trip to some of the spots we hit up. Still may when I find them, lol. Then me and my girls ditched our dates (sorry no bumpin' uglies) stayed at the Ritz Carlton in this absolutely gorgeous room! We got the complete spa treatment and it was just pure loveliness! We had a ball!

17. If you could go back and do it over, would you?
Yes I would

18. What do you remember most about graduation?
Almost walking off the stage w/out using the steps! I graduated in a place called the Capital Center and if I didn't catch myself I would have walked off stage and broke something. I remember seeing this guy Justins eyes get real big. I don't know what I was thinking. I also remember standing on my chair screaming at the end, you know during that part where people throw there hats in the air. My girls aunt took a picture of it and gave it to me. Classic moment.

19. Favorite memory of your Senior Year?
The band trips, the talent shows, walking to PG Plaza, just too many....

20. Were you ever posted up on the senior wall?
We didn't have one of those

21. Did you have a job your senior year?
Nope, don't know why

22. Who did you date?
A butthole named Stephen, Ugh!

23. Where did you go most often for lunch?
The cafeteria/the yard/the band room

24. Have you gained weight since then?
Next question

25. What did you do after graduation?
I don't know, I remember taking a bunch of pictures right after. But where I went after that I don't know, home I guess. Maybe a small graduation party? I don't know.

Ahh High School - I am still there. Our homecoming is in a couple of weeks and the Booker T. Washington Class of 1984 will be IN THE HOUSE.

I am the Chairperson of our Reunion Committee and I try to keep us in the loop and what not. We have a yahoogroup and everything, lol

I did this meme in a discussion group. Maybe I'll find my old HS entry from the first blog..

Have a good weekend and I'll think about that concoction you spoke of above as a diet motivator YUCK!

Luvin, those were da days. Why do we have these constant reminders that we are not teens anymore? LOL

Pam, that's what's up! Hope the motivation lasts!

Nikki, didn't it make your stomach feel weird thinking about what a bbq sundae is? LOL

Freaky, I have never had either item and I hope your weekend is going well also!

J, anything from a fair that starts with fried or deep fried is that item dipped in batter and deep fried. I have never had the oreos so I can't tell you. I was tempted to buy a fried snickers yesterday but decided against it. You may want to ask Thoughts of a Southern Girl, she has had them recently.

BB, your to young to be forgetting things so soon after they happen! LOL I am scared what the new fair food will be next year, seriously! Hope your enjoying yours as well.

DNT, band geeks UNITE! hahahahaha The weekend thus far has been great. I plan to blog about it tomorrow.
