My momma lomma's birthday is this weekend. She is a kinda a Jehovah witness, kinda meaning she still celebrates holidays and birthdays-just not on that day, so she doesn't really want anything for her day.
My original thought was to have some flowers sent to her (which I've never done) as a surprise
or
Since my mechanic has offered again to bring my van to me on Friday, I just thought that I could drive up there Friday night, take her to dinner or something for her B-day on Saturday then come back here Sunday...
My mom is coming down this way next week for Turkey day so either way I will be seeing her very soon, I just thought me and Pooka showing up at the house would surprise her more than the flowers...
What do you think? Any other suggestions? Please remember I am not rich yet! LOL

Flowers...I sent my mom some flowers to her job as a surprise 5 years ago and I still hear about them :-) While they won't admit it, they like it when we surprise them.

Mom dukes loves surprises but I don't do it enough :-( I'll check that site out when I get out of lab.
if she like flowers.. i think that would be the most reasonable ($$$) thing to do..
i kinda like the popping up on her.. but if she has plans that she hasnt shared w/ u.. u might be mad that you drove all the way up there for nothing....
I like the flowers. But I think the suprise idea is sweet.
TTD, I think I am going to go with flowers cuz of what you said about her possibly having plans already. You just never know with my mom and with just my luck she'd be in VA somewhere! ROFL
DNT, I just want to do something wonderful and unexpected for her this year.
I know you could be risking her already having plans, but I really like the idea of you and Pooka going to see her. I think she would really love that. You could even show up with some flowers and tell her that eventhough you could have had them delivered, you wanted to do it in person!

I say go see her and bring flowers! My momma always said, "Give me my flowers while I can smell them!"
