I had it all planned out

My courses for the summer, my courses for the fall, my job change, my hours, my new routine, everything. Until one thing sorta kinda threw a monkey wrench into things. Namely, my Physics teacher slightly changing the class hours and adding a few...*sigh* Since yesterday I have been trying to plan out a routine that will work. Every time I think I come close to having a game plan I seem to always forget something that changes everything all over again.

Right now I am thinking about taking Anatomy and Physiology again (to fulfill Duke's PT school prerequisites of taking it within 5 years) at the community college starting in May, ending in July. Then taking Evaluation and Measurement summer 1 (May-June) and Physics (July) during summer 2 at the university. This way I will be done with EVERYTHING book related by the end of June/beginning of July. I'd only have my internship to complete in order to graduate and that will be done at the hospital so no problem right? Sounds good huh?

Here's the problem, the current PT aide is leaving at the end of June so I should be on the hospital's payroll very early July. The same July I'll be taking Physics and the same July I'll be taking A&P. At my current job they'll let me work pretty much when I want, but I won't be at my current job. So as I was telling the "coworker" that invited me and Pooka over a few weeks ago...I have to have a prayer meeting with the Big Boss over there to see if she would be willing to allow me to work a really funky, less than 40 hr/week shift for the month of July. From an HR point of view coming in the door requesting less than 40 isn't the best look to start your probationary 90 days. But after July I'd be able to stay there all day everyday since it'll be my only responsibility. Well that's not exactly true, I registered for Sign Lanquage in the fall, but that's a night class one day a week. I just have to have a prayer meeting about it on my own, then have a prayer meeting with the Big Boss.

While I was doing my thing at the hospital the Athletic Performance Center left me a message and an email basically to try to set up a time for me to come by, view the place, and set up an interview. *double sigh* This is the unpaid internship working with athletes of various levels. Normally this would make me jump for joy, but I can't accept the internship. I am going to look online and see how to professionally say thanks, I can't take your offer right now, but don't throw my resume away if you see it again in the future.

Don't get me started on the GRE's....

I had it all planned out perfectly....*triple sigh*

I'm assuming that the Big Boss at the new job is aware that you're a student trying to finish up her undergrad studies and preparing to embark on her grad school career. I don't know if the new job will be as lenient as the old one but there should be some room for flexibility.

There's no way you can keep your current job and work that free internship at night or something?

Pray on it and do what you have to do. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

She knows what I am doing and trying to do. Everyone at the hosptial does. I just have to see what she is willing and unwilling to accept.

I don't think the APC is open at night. That's one of the questions I was going to ask him when I return his call tomorrow. If they work some cool hours and I don't have to be there 40 hours a week (which I doubt) then we may be able to work something out.

Thanks for the crossing of the fingers. It's appriciated. Right before I talk to the Boss Lady Imma ask you to tighten your fingers and cross your toes! LOL!

YAY! Keep them crossed. I spoke with the APC dude and told him what my concerns were and he said they are flexible because the internship is not paid they can't expect for people to come 40hr/week and mess up there money making potential! However he did mention that hwe usually likes folks to do about 20/wk to get something valuable from the experience. So there just might be some hope for me yet!
