*sniff sniff* Uh oh, it's that time of year again!

There is only one place I know where one can get deep fried oreos....

deep fried OMG! a.k.a. Snickers bar. Let me say again....OMG!

this....you know what it is?

Yep, you read the sign right! Deep fried pecan pie (It's a Southern Thing, per the sign)

And this item that even on a chilly day has people lined up. Where there's never a time where the line is short, no matter what time of day. Where what you see is me and Pooka in line and the four layers of people in a zig zagged line in front of us stand and where the line behind me was about half that length? If you can't read the sign scroll down....

Yes my friends, NC State homemade icecream. Mercy! NC State has a big agriculturism program and the sale of the delish treat helps their program. My coworker turned me on to this last year and I HAD to stand in line patiently to get me some this year! This year I got Java Bean. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! One of the other volunteers at the clinic who goes to state says there is a place on campus that sales this stuff year round. I purposefully didn't ask her where it was cuz I'd be there more often than I should! LOL! Despite my day of eating high fat goods, I am still on a mission to get myself right!
Where can you get all this and a whole lot more????
THE 2008 NORTH CAROLINA STATE FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This year Pooka and I did something different than our usual run of the fair. Instead of the turkey leg and honey sticks I brought the deep fried heart attacks on sticks. Instead of riding the ponies and checking out the animals and leaving, we added watching some cool magic shows like the dude above who was really good and...

this chick here who had poodles do some neat things! Pooka was called on stage to be her personal assistant and you would have thought Chris Brown called her on the stage. LOL!. There was 2 parts of Pooka's performance and during the second part this chick had Pooka rolling around on the stage and everything! Too funny!!!!! I have the first part on video and the 2nd part won't cooperate with me. UGH! Why does technology hate me so? :-(

This is 1/4th of a display of items that come out of NC. I learned a lot from the agriculture tent. I usually don't go in there but I am glad I did.

As I am sitting here blogging the turkey leg and corn in the husk is calling my name wondering why I didn't bring them home. I still have an extra ticket to get in so I may go back tomorrow morning, get my 2 items and bounce! Would that be wrong? ROFL! Of course it isn't! I know plenty of people who go to the fair just to eat! DON'T JUDGE ME! HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!
Besides, it would go good with the deep fried pie we brought today. Notice it was wrapped in foil, by the time we ate the oreos, snickers, and ice cream me and Pookas sweet teeth were on overload! LOL!

I don't understand the twisted people who desire such things deep fried. With that said however, if I ever find a deep fried slice of pizza I may have to try it.

How dare you post a picture of the ice cream to taunt me like that? Do you have enough to share with your readers? Well mainly me? Mmm java bean. x(

Well be proud that Pooka didn't freeze up, faint, act a fool, or downright embarrassed you. Has she calmed down yet from playing with the Poodles? LOL.

You should've just brought a bag with you and got your fill of fair food.

At the rate NC is going deep fried pizza will be on sale soon! Trust me! LOL

Mannnnn I barely had enough to share with Pooka! I got yall on the next round tho' *wink*

Yeah, she pooped out as soon as we got home. Those uppers from today will definitely come right on down! :-)

The fair will be here for another week and change and I already got a ticket in. This means I still have plenty of time to do just that! *cheese* I would go tonight but I don't mess with the fair at night.

Our fair is in town too. I went straight to the fried oreos. I'm one of the people who go to eat. My friend work at the fair every year. She always give me food tickets. I come back home with dinner. Lol

Freaky, I saw a show on Food Network about a restaurant that fry everything including pizza. Restaurant was in Brooklyn.

ROFL! I just left a comment on your page!

OMG! I wish I had the fair hookup! I always get tickets to get in, but never for food! Dang!

do you know there is not a fair to be found in Houston?! last year i was too caught up w/ other things to care. but now that i have the time, there isn't one. there is some whack little carnival near my apt., but that's not the same!

i'd love some really good ice cream right about now! i went to the tulsa fair several years ago and just had to have a turkey leg. so, i get it and after eating less than half, i started getting dizzy. turns out that was way too much for my system!

on a completely unrelated note, how are grad school apps going?

As big as TX is I am sure there is a state fair somewhere! And your right carnivals are close but not the same.

I am working on my essays now, well taking a break from them anyways, LOL!

OK, a deep fried oreo? For REAL!!!! My mouth is currently watering. And I have NO idea what that third item is. ???? Hubby would probably go nuts over some deep fried pecan pie. I don't like it, UGH!!!! but I'm SO sure he would.

Go Pooka!!!! Cant wait to see the video. I bet it's hilarious.

Goddess, the 3rd item is the deep fried pecan pie :-) It's "ight" deep fried, but I prefer it regular. Have The God try it if he comes acrossed it.

I'll look and see if the clip will show up this time around. If does I'll upload it and take it down by midnight :-)

The AR State Fair just ended Saturday. They said they had record #'s in the neighborhood of over 400,000 folks.

Giiiiiiiiiiirrrll, I tried a fried twinkie once. I took one bite and was done and that bite went directly from my mouth to the trash (or maybe it was the ground...I can't recall). lol

I can't wait to see the vid of Pooka. I bet she was cute as deep fried pecan pie! :)

OMG those treats looked so tasty. give me a turkey leg and funnel cake with some fresh lemonade and I'm good. I missed the Georgia State Fair this year but I'll be back next year, damnit. I'm glad y'all had fun.

I'm thinking about heading over there myself. I remember last year, when I was blogging it for the old job, I came across a, gasp, deep-fried reese's cup.

I died and went to heaven that day...

The Oreos are "ight" Lady girl, but I suggest you try them for yourself.

Torrance, now you have :-D

Kasandra, according to Southern Girl it's found in NY somewhere

ARgal, can't get the videos to work :-(

I don't like twinkies, so I didn't try fool with the deep fried ones....

Darius, yeah man, I think you may have to experience fair food. Hopefully IL is as good as NC food wise.

Mo, you had to have a baby. That is more important than some fair. Besides, little man can go get an eye full next year :-)

TZ, I am kinda shocked you haven't taken the kids. There is always next year. Um, you can have an oreo but I am not sharing the Snickers! LOL!

Rashan, I am starting to realize that deep fried oreos haven't made there rounds through all the fairs yet. It's coming!

Nobody, *gasp* I did NOT see the Reeses Cup! I bet that's yummy! When I go back Saturday morning on my food run I will have to pick that up! LOL!
