Goals for 2009 typed out

This post is mainly for me. My previous post has a pic of my newest family member! YAY! I suggest you pass this post and read that one :-)

I wasn't going to do this this year but I thought of 2 I need to stick with and need to have it typed and written out somewhere so I don't forget what I wanted to do.

Goal 1: Stop procrastinating. Most things I am on the ball about, but there are a few important things that will come my way that I need to take care of, know about in advance, and don't take care of it till I have no choice but to do so. That's what needs to be changed. I seem to work very well at the last minute but that gives me no excuse to wait and do something only when it's now or never. Mommy and Snookums can be the main people to testify that my procrastination needs to end. A typical conversation with either one of them usually includes the question..."Did you blank blank blank today? A good example of my craziness happened this morning. I have more than one bank account and the account my check comes in is different than the one my car payment comes from. My payment comes out tomorrow and the account was a tad short. I knew I needed to hit up one bank and make the deposit in the other bank before 2pm. Know what time I left the house? 1:50! Luckily both banks are close by so I actually made the deposit in time. I must stop this nonsense. Even now, I am supposed to be finishing up my personal statement for ECU and ELON. I've been home all day (minus taking Pooka to daycare and the bank stuff) and I have not added one word to it. I gotta have it gone by the 5th. I promised myself I'd have it gone by the 3rd.

Goal 2: Cook more, eat out less. About 2 years ago Pooka and I would eat out about once a month and life was great! I need to get back to doing that again. Very easy reasons why I have to do this. 1) It's cheaper and I need to save more money period! I have been blessed to have been able to pretty much buy what I wanted when I wanted it this year. That has changed. 2) I want to enhance my cooking ability and 3) I simply weigh too much. Actually cooking/preparing my food will help me continue to change my lifestyle. Not to mention enhancing Pooka's way of life as well. I have my yearly physical on the 6th and after my weigh in they are going to tell me how much I weighed at my last physical *sigh* Maybe I'll make myself zone out for a few minutes. LOL!

Nothing unrealistic

Please add my name to the procrastination list....especially when it's work related. lol

We've been doing better at not eating out as much although we reverted this past weekend. We cooked last night though. I'm going to thaw out something for dinner after I type this comment. lol

I'll put your name right under mine :-)

Holidays are special occasions so if you was doing good for a while a night or 2 eating out isn't so bad.

Shouldn't you be working on your personal statement now that you've put up the required post? *cracks my whip* There's more of that if you don't get on the ball. *whistles*

I procastinate ALOT. I need to be doing something now instead of reading blogs.

I've done so much better the last 6 months on cooking instead of eatting out. I was spending about $25-30 every week eating out at work. That had to stop. I started cooking enough for leftovers the next day. It felt good looking at my ledger and only spent $3.25 during the week at work.

A totally realistically obtainable list. Do it!

you sure we aren't related? nobody procrastinates like me (just look at the last time i blogged). it's on my mind but i just don't get around to doing it. i always tell a similar story that i work well under pressure. the truth is that since that's the way i typically do business, i don't have anything to compare it to. i too eat out probably more than i should. not so much because of the money, but because i can't control what i'm consuming. i know i can order the light or healthy portions or whatever, but when you cook at home you know what you're adding to your food.

i agree with everyone else. those goals are completely realistic and obtainable.

i'm a terrible procrastinator. the thing that stops me from being better is that things always work out for me in the end. and 9 times out of 10, even better than if i'd started a lot earlier. as for the banking situation, have you considered having your bank automatically transfer money from one account to the other by a designated date? i also have 2 checking accounts and it's saved me a lot of time and worry.

$3.25? Southern I need to be like you when I grow up! LOL

Monique, so far so good :-)

JB, where the hell you been? Guess I should read the blog huh? LOL! Portion control is my number one enemy when it comes to food.

BB, I have to see if it's possible to to a bank to bank auto transfer. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
