Interview from Monique

1. If you want to participate, leave me a comment saying, “Interview me.” (And your e-mail address, please.)2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. I get to pick the questions.3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

1. If you had the option of giving up sex or the internet for a year, which would you choose?

Wow, I toggled this back and forth because I've gone a very long time without either and survived. But if I had to choose one or the other I would say sex. Right now the one thing I must do regularly is check my email cuz right now I have schools that may contact me about possible grad school acceptance. Plus I can't find a side hustle on craigslist if I can't get online. Then add on the fact that I like to keep up with the blogger folks from time to time and I sure can't do that without the internet now can I? So yeah, I choose sex.

2. Who is your favorite author and why.

The first author that comes to mind is Tananarive Due. I am not a hardcore reader, but in the past when I found myself in mood to lose myself in a book I thoroughly enjoyed My Soul to Keep and Living Blood. Now that you mention it I need to go ahead and swing by the library and pick up her other works. It's not like I have homework to occupy my time at the moment.

3. Use 5 words to describe your life up until this point.

This question is harder than I thought! 28 years in 5 words huh? Hmmmmmmm

Fun- I've had some great times and lots of laughter in my life. I can't wait for more of it.

Disappointing - To learn some of life's lessons I had to be disappointed. It's just way it is.

Roller coaster - I am either laughing or crying, at a "super dee duper" point or a "that sucks" point

Active - In my life I've always had a tendency to be apart of a lot of different activities. At first I think it was a way to say out the house, but now I just can't be cool with doing nothing or one thing for long. I seem to function better with knowing I have to be here at this time and there at another time. Also, when I am not doing anything I tend to focus and think about things that don't make me feel so hot, so one could say I am avoiding negative thoughts by not giving myself time to think about them.

Inspiring - I have not had the roughest life of them all, but when I take the time to reflect on what has happened in my life thus far and who I've become thus far partially because of it, it excites me to see where I would top out, if I ever do! I mean that to say to see what I've already done with what I've been given inspires me to do even more with what I have and what is going on now.

4. Where is your dream vacation spot and why.

I know you probably mean for me to name a particular place, but I can't. My dream place will be somewhere with clean pretty sand, clear water, no bugs, no wildlife that frightens me, endless drinks that are on point, great food, culture, entertainment, and ALL INCLUSIVE!!!! I've experienced that when I went to Jamaica and I hated to come back home. I am not going to say Jamaica as my answer because I've been there and I am certain there are other places that I have not been that can provide those basics.

5. Are you for or against interracial relationships/marriage? Would you/have you date outside of your race?

My thing is if you can find someone that likes/loves you, it's reciprocated, and you both want to be together or get married so be it. Who am I to say to stay within your race. Now I must admit I do look at interracial couples a bit longer than a same sex couple, but mostly because it's a contrast. I'd look at a very tall person with a very short person (like Shaq and Shauni (sp?)) the same way. Or if it's a nice looking person with a not as nice to look at person (like Jayonce) You get my drift. To answer the second part of the question, I have dated outside my race before. I was in high school and I temporally dated a blonde haired, brown eyed football player. It was brief cuz basically in getting to know each other better we both learned it wasn't what we wanted, but he was still a cutie and fun to hang out with as a friend.

OMG! Sex or internet?! That is hard! I like peen and I like the web. I guess the light at the end of the tunnel would be online porn though. *shrugs shoulders*

Interracial relationships have never bothered me in the least. Gay, straight, different races it's all the is love. Take it how you can get it and how you want it.

Interview me. *cheese*

I don't know. I love the Internet but interaction with real people, face to face, in real life will always trump pretty much anything the Net can offer me. Though my answer might depend on my relationship status at the time.

Have a good weekend.

Argal, trust me I went back and forth and had to pick one! LOL

Torrance, basically I always did not get what I wanted in life and I can be very impatient at times when it comes to waiting for something I want.

Freaky, ok

I can't even remember life without the internet, but I bet meeting people was more fun the old fashion way...face to face :-)

uhm, how about i immediately knew i'd give up sex. LOL! mainly b/c i've gone w/o it for more than a year and b/c i do so much online, that if i went w/o the internet, i don't think i'd be able to fully function.

i think we discussed Tananarive Due before. i just finished Black Rose, which is completely unlike My Soul to Keep and Living Blood. but, it was still good. well, if you can get into historical fiction...

oh, and interview me, please!

Historical fiction huh? I'll give it a shot.

OK! :-)
