So ummmmm, yeah.....

For some unknown reason I have been avoiding my blog like the plague. Just haven't been doing the blogging/blog reading thing for the past few days. *shrug*

What's been up in my slice of the world? Well Monday I went to my temp service to fill out the paperwork and to watch a mandatory OSHA video *yarn*. After that I spoke with the person who reps the state job. I asked her about direct deposit. I fill that form out and she tells me how much my pay rate is. Let me just say YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! *insert Tiger Woods arm pull down* God is good! I asked the chick when they wanted me to start and she was under the impression that I already started! LOL! I go to my permanent industrial rehab job and call my boss at the state job to see when I am supposed to start....

"ASAP"

My mind said okay..."How about tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow is perfect."

"What time do you want me to come in?"

"When you get here."

Not expecting that answer. "Ummm how about 7:30?"

"Great! See you tomorrow morning!"

In my mind I was like, did this woman just tell me to get there when I got there? Lawd have mercy these folks are starting to spoil me again! LOL! I get there Tuesday and while logging on to the computer I was told that when I left they never shut my accounts down! How the hell they know I was coming back? LOL! Anyways, so I open my email to 700 or so emails! After getting settled in the system I went walking around the building to say hi to folks and meet the 2 new folks that came on permanent since I left. Most folks were very glad and surprised to see me. Some thought I was just up there to visit. My supervisor told some employees Monday that someone who was familiar with the system we use was coming back, so they were trying to guess which ex employee it was. None of them guessed me! HA!

I got there at 7:30 and by 10:30 I was ready to go home! It didn't take me long to remember why I blogged from time to time about being ready to leave. I stay because they need help and I need the money. Period.

I must say that I LOVE not having as much responsibility as I did when I was there before! The people who got my tasks were happy to see me and ask me questions. And boooooooooooy did they ask me questions. It was like I never took the time to explain everything before I left and that it's not in the manual *smh* Long story short, I honestly felt missed and needed and I am glad it's only 2, maybe 3 if I work a Saturday, days a week!

Oh yeah, why on my second day back my supervisor came to me asking me what my hours were! Again, in my head I was like "aren't you supposed to be telling ME when yall want me here?" I thought for a second and gave her my hours and she went on her way. I swear I can get used to these companies asking me when I want and don't want to work! LOL! The same thing happened with my rehab job. They said they wanted me to work 2 full days and a half day and I got to choose which days I wanted!

So now my schedule looks a lil sumtin like this....

Monday 7:30-9:30 volunteer with inpatient rehab, 10-12 volunteer with outpatient rehab, 1-5 work my industrial rehab job

Tuesday work for the state

Wednesday work for the state

Thursday work for industrial rehab

Friday work for industrial rehab

Some Saturdays work for the state

Love it!

The inpatient rehab is at another hospital than the one I've been doing outpatient. The orientation was on Monday. I haven't officially started inpatient yet because they have not got my background check and all that make sure I'm sane, a good worker, and not a felon stuff back. :-)

Hmmmmm what else? Oh yeah, I submitted my Elon application. Pooka's loving her new child care arrangement. I have had the chance to talk to some folks I haven't spoke to in a minute. Hung out briefly with a blogger. One of my best friends is trying to recruit me and Pooka into becoming Steelers fans, which is very funny to me. I really want to be a true blue win or lose fan of ONE NFL team. Right now it's either the Redskins or the Panthers simply because they rep my hometowns. I can't pick just one right now. :-( Yeah and before some of you say it, I know I grew up in MD and technically the Ravens are the MD team, they are just not an option for me! Baltimore is it's own separate life form from the rest of MD! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I just knew things would fall into order for you, they always do. You're a special one Ladynay :-)

I've heard stories about B-more. All I gotta say if it's anything like how they portrayed it on "The Wire" (which I'm sure it is), I wouldn't want no parts of it either. lol

Wow!!! I guess the state must love you letting YOU dictate when you come and go. That's unheard of. They must really love you. I so happy that things are working out for you.

ArGal, short bus special...go head and say it, I know you want to! LOL!

B-More is kinda like any other city. There are really nice areas and there are some ummmmmm not so nice areas. They have their own talk, own hairstyles, and own music (which is a great way to lose a million pounds if you dance to it long enough!) LOL! If you hang out in DC metro area long enough you can tell if someone is from Baltimore! HAHAHAHA! You do know that The Wire taped in B-more right?

Goddess, they are spoiling me! LOL! If I wasn't able to get on at the state I had plans B and C lined up! Paying major bills and feeding my child are NOT options, so if working fast food (option C) was my only out I'd been on it!

congrats on the 2nd job coming through. things always seem to work out for you in the end.

oh, how i'd love to have a job where i set my own hours. unfortunately, a teacher can't just roll in when s/he pleases! lol...

oh, let me just say that i'm ever so glad you didn't have to resort to Option C!

You mean you passed up the chance to hook up your favorite blogger with lots of greasy, fatty foods for a job that lets you dictate your own schedule? *frowns* How incredibly selfish! Um can I get a couple of dollars now? :oD

Glad the 2nd job worked out. You just love the early mornings though don't you? LOL.

I have to visit Baltimore and see why people from other parts of Maryland don't really like it. Let me get my robe and hood out of the cleaners and see what airfare is running.

I had no doubt everything was going to work out in favor.

Since my state doesn't have any professional teams, I like several teams.

You can say that again about B-more. They should call them a state of their own. A state back in the 80's! LOL

You go girl. Work it.

bb, I am thankful for that.

You can roll in the classroom whenever you wanted, you just won't have a job very long :-)

I hope to never have to work retail or fast food again.

Freaky, when I'm the team therapist for some pro team I will give you a few Washingtons.:-)

I like mornings so I can go ahead and get whatever I need to get done done and have the rest of the day to chill. The longer I wait to do something the higher the chance I won't do it. LOL!

I never said I didn't like B-more, it's just it's own place.

Southern, that sucks that you don't have any pro teams to back! What kind of mess is that?????Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

TZ, LOL!

I am trying.

*glares* When you're a team therapist for a pro team I expect Benjamins and the phone numbers of some cheerleaders. Um if you need someone to oil the cheerleaders down for you then I'm your man. ;oD

Mmm hmm. It seems like everyone in Maryland outside of Baltimore says bad things about the city or people.

Oh for sure, if the cheerleaders needs help with anything I'll make sure to mention your sweet and innocent self.....*eyeroll*
