The water kept calling me....

So I finally gave in and went to the pool today. Sure it's 30 something degrees and raining but you couldn't tell it once you stepped into the building.

Let me just say that my addiction is back! OMG! Next pay check I am getting Pooka and I unlimited passes for the year! Yes sir.ee.bob!

It felt fantastic being back in the water, you'd think I was a water sign! LOL

It felt even greater when the swimmer in the next lane complimented my back stroke.

What didn't feel so great was how I felt after length number 10, lap number 5. My body was in the WTF you doing stage. My brain reminded the rest of my body about how we used to swim some serious laps non stop at one point and how we maxed out at 72 lengths for the swim final. My body was quick to emphasise the AT ONE POINT part of brains argument. They finally agreed on taking the time and starting over to get my endurance back up to where it was once upon a time.

Pooka and I swam and played until our tummies said we burned off our lunch and it was time to eat again! LOL!

My eyes are kinda burning so I'll keep this short, plus I need to throughly wash my locs. That's one of the downsides of trying to get back into swimming on the regular. :-( Darnit!

Multiple posts in a week? Who are you and what did you do with Ladynay? LOL.

Did you wear the swimsuit with the thong?

Hope your eyes stop burning soon.

Darius, it's all good. Everyone don't get down with water. :-)

I am suprised you've been on your fair share of cruises and not really care for water....hmmmmm

Swimming is a good workout! I wouldn't know though. The only thing I do in water is wade. lol

At least you get in. There is a stereotype that black women don't get in the water, just buy a nice suit and walk around it! LOL!

i'm one of those Black women who don't get in the pool. clearly, not b/c i fear my hair getting wet. but, i have something of a fear of water. i'll get in up to knees or something, but after that it makes, me nervous.

anyway, i'm glad you're getting back into doing something you love.

Ever heard someone saying that a body of water was "too much water to drink"? I have from a quite a few people so you are not alone. And when I was taking swim I there was a chick who was very afraid of the water. We would be in the shallow end and when the instructor told her to dunk her head under she'd really freak out. She never learned to swim without having the life jacket on when the semester ended, but I think the teacher passed her because she honestly tried till her fears got the best of her. Part of me wondered if she had a bad experience in the water when she was younger, but I never asked...
