Roommate

On Sunday I will have one. Don't know how long the duration is either. This should be interesting knowing how territorial I am.

Long story short my cousin found herself in a situation that left her homeless she asked me for help. Out of her available options I live the closest to her job. I think it's on the way to Elon, if so she may be able to ride with me some days but I am not sure. She is a PA and sometimes works those long crazy hours so that is a big maybe. I will throw the option out there after she arrives. I am going to give her Pooka's room and Pooka will have the couch, which works out well cuz Pooka knocks out on the couch a lot anyways by choice :-)

I am so glad I can help. I know what it feels like to be suddenly be homeless, despite my temporary homelessness being by choice. In hind sight that was a bold move I made that evening I decided to leave Pooka's dad, but whatever.

I am just interested in finding out how I am going to deal with a potential long term roommate. I mean...I love my mom to death, but when she was staying with me there were times I was ready for her to go somewhere. So I hope I don't get that way with my cousin. She is good people so it should take awhile for me to want my place back, LOL! The plan is for her to stay here till she finds her own place. That could be a moment. I know it took me about 2 months to get back on my feet when I was on the housing search.

We will see what happens.

that was nice of you to offer her. Being that you've been there, you never know how much this may really bless you.

Hopefully she'll find a place quickly. Maybe you already know of a couple of places she might like. Good luck with the roomie.

I think opening your home to her is great! I'm sure she is grateful you agreed. I agree that this is an opportunity for a blessing! :)

Jameil, thanks! I think I may need it!

Mo, possibly. I just recently got a lot blessings laid upon me, so it may just be my turn to do my part for the cause.

Freaky, I know places around here, but I know nothing about housing in Durham. She has already started her search so I am sure something fitting will come to light soon.

Puddin', we never really think about how nice having a safe place to lay your head at night is until you don't have it anymore. I am just glad I am in a position to help her out.

Wow. Well I hope this works out for you. But, as someone who has always had a steady stream of people living her house, plan for the long term. Hopefully shes the kind of person who will want to leave but sometimes they dont and they stiack around for a loooonnnngg time.

K, I've got my fingers crossed that she has the motivation to get on her feet swiftly. My place isn't fancy or big and the ants around here think they live here too, so that may be motivation! LOL

Hopefully she has a game plan together or will work on starting one soon once she gets her bearings.

Either way, your gesture is one that she (hopefully) won't soon forget.
