Thank Goodness It's Friday

It hasn't been a bad week but I am glad it's over. Last night I went to Pooka's Open House for school. I learned a lot in the hour and a half I was there. The only thing I found odd is by it being an ESOL school, I thought they would incorporate Spanish into the kindergarten curriculum, but they don't....they teach sign language. I think that that's great, but it just makes more sense to me to teach Spanish before the 2nd or 3rd grade.

After the Open House I went grocery shopping! I did very very very well and I am proud of myself. Not that I have been eating junk food, but I have been hitting up the fast food more often and my trail and DDR less often. The scale is still going in the right direction, but not as fast as it was when I was at this place last year. If I didn't fall off the boat and regain most of the weight I lost (the slow and proper way) I would be very close to my personal goal weight by now! Anywho....

Why am I just finding out that Rell, from In Search of RELLevance, is less than 2 miles away from me on a regular basis! Next fall we will be hanging out doing our education thing in the same daggone building! So that's another reason I gotta get a lot of this weight off. By Rell not knowing what I look like and I having to take swimming. He could see me, take a picture of me in my swimsuit w/a camera phone and email to hot ghetto mess. Then I'd be featured on Dr. Nic's site and folks be talking about me then I have to stop blogging due to embarrassment and nobody would know why but me! LOL It's a small world.

I have a slight dilemma that I already know the answer to but I am still toggling. My mom has decided not to come back with me and Pooka after Easter. I wasn't planning on daycare for her to start till May 1st. So now I have 2 bump it up 2 weeks, which isn't the problem. The problem is where should she go. I have the daycare that she has been going to FOREVER, they are nice and the prices are decent...but it's on the other side of town where I used to live. Then there is a local daycare (less than 3 miles from the house) that I am looking into that seems okay so far that's more expensive...but they stay open till 8pm vs. the normal 6pm and that is a BIG plus. I am going to drop by the local daycare today and see how the vibes are. My visit will make my choice for me. I am leaning towards the local one because the way I figure it, the money that I'd be spending on gas to go across town everyday could be going to the local daycare for services. But I gotta see what the real deal is.
