5 things you may not know

Somebody started a game of tag. They wanted to share 5 things about themselves and tagged some folks at the end to do the same. They tagged folks, then they tagged folks, insert a ton more tags and now I've been hit. So here we go:

1. Yesterday I think was my first time eating at Outback Steakhouse. Part of me wants to say I've been but I can't remember going, so I'll say yesterday was the first time. It wasn't the best nor worst experience but I don't think it will be high on my "let's go to...." list.

2. I love blowing bubbles. Always have, always will. How can one be mad while blowing bubbles? You simply can't do it!!! You can be mad and not to want to do it, but if you do, you feel better. I bet some are smiling right now just thinking about blowing bubbles. :-D

3. I can crochet. Back in elementary school a chick would sit by herself everyday and crochet a pink and grey blanket. At the end of the school year that thing was HUGE and very pretty. So I learned how. I haven't done it in awhile but it's not all that difficult. I could never get into the groove of knitting. That was my best friends thing.

4. I had preeclampsia at the very end of my pregnancy. At the time I didn't really know what it was outside of high blood pressure and it was one of the things keeping me in the hospital those 4 days. After I got home I learned it could have been fatal for either me, Pooka, or both of us.

5. I also was unconscious when Pooka was born. Basically after 22 hours of ultra fun labor I was given an epidural and went night night when I wasn't supposed to. Next thing I know my eyes are slowly opening and I saw a few blurry nurses and heard muffled yelling that I had a girl and how much she weighed and what not. All I could remember asking was "I had the baby?" So yeah everyone missed Pooka coming out of me, even babydaddy. At first I never told anyone that I had had a c-section because I felt less than a woman and was embarrassed. I cried about it for a long time. I mean I didn't undergo the whole natural birth process PLUS missed the birth of MY FIRST CHILD!!! Then add all the hormones trying to get themselves together after Pooka left the body and I was a crying mess. I had to slowly realize that having a healthy baby was the MOST important thing and as time went on the fact she didn't come all the way down my birth canal became less and less of a big deal. I am still kind of mad I missed it. :-(

So there you have it. I know that at least ONE of these things is something you didn't know about me. LOL

I tag anyone who hasn't been tagged already and wants to do it.

yeah.. outback is just ok... their steaks are kinda dry

what exactly is preeclampsia?

Ladynay said...

C/O Wikipedia...

Pre-eclampsia is said to be present when hypertension arises in pregnancy (pregnancy-induced hypertension) in association with significant protein in the urine. (Note: in the U.S. the word is spelled without the hyphen, "preeclampsia," and in most other parts of the world with a hyphen, "pre-eclampsia.") Its cause remains unclear, although the principal cause appears to be a substance or substances from the placenta causing endothelial dysfunction in the maternal blood vessels.[1] While blood pressure elevation is the most visible sign of the disease, it involves generalized damage to the maternal endothelium and kidneys and liver, with the release of vasopressive factors only secondary to the original damage.

Pre-eclampsia may develop at varying times within pregnancy and its progress differs among patients; most cases present pre-term. It has no known cure apart from ending the pregnancy (induction of labor or abortion). It may also present up to six weeks post-partum. It is the most common, dangerous complication of pregnancy and it may affect both the mother and the fetus.

Okay, I am waiting for someone who swears by Outback! LOL

If it's not a square I don't know how to make it, how about a throw for the couch? LOL I added this when you had it on yours. That's something I know I haven't blogged about already! LOL

I don't think I am going to share her labor and delivery story with her unless she wants to know.

You gonna look really funny pissed off blowing bubbles! ROFL!

Outback Steakhouse is the best food ever!!! I ever I say! Okay, I've never been but I'm sure little Outback is in a corner somewhere crying at everybody's remarks.

I could probably blow bubbles while angry. Then again I'd smile as the children watched in horror as I murder the poor little bubbles. Die bubbles die! BWAHAHAHA!!!

So can you crochet a bra and panty set? What? Oh like you've never seen one before.

Your pregnancy and delivery don't sound very pleasant.

yay for word verification! spammers--- poof! be gone! LOL--- did you used to say that as a kid? it's kinda whack now that i think about it.

1. Yeah, Outback is not that great. I have a friend back home who loves it. Too bad she's not a blogger, so she can't check in!

2. this made me smile.

3. for some reason the little girl crocheting by herself made me a little sad. anyway, you're better than me. the only thing i can sew is a button!

4. yeah, i heard that was pretty serious. of course, i only know from watching A Baby Story.

5. awww... i'm sorry you missed the birth of your 1st born. why were the nurses yelling? i mean, it was an exciting moment, but i don't know how i'd feel about yelling. hmmm... i think i'm a little irritable today.

Ladynay said...

Yeah, I believe I've utter those words b4 :-)

1. She may be a blogger *grin*
2. I know it did
3. It wasn't a sad thing, she still hung out and was mad cool. It was just recess was her time to do her thing and we respected that.
4. I haven't watched a baby story in years! :-( They would show a dating story, wedding story, then baby story back to back everyday.
5. I think they were yelling because they knew I wouldn't be able to hear them if they didn't everything is kinda muffled when your coming out of a deep sleep. At least it was for me.

awww hugs abt missing pooka's birth. i thought i wanted to be unconcious but now that you say that i can see how it would make you react that way. i hear a lot of people talking about their child not being in their body anymore is such a shock.

outback is very ehhh. ruby tuesday has really stepped up their menu. i'm kind of impressed.

Ladynay said...

You want to be awake when it happens, it's a moment that you never get back. Even if your numb you still want to witness it.

I haven't been to Ruby Tuesdays in a while.

1. I love Outback Steakhouse. It is not my favorite but I love there lobster tails! LOL I have never had anything else there!

2) I can crochet, knite, sew, quilt and a few others.

3) Lastly...... I remember the labor. At least the part that I was there for! And I remember the ordeal aftewards. I am glad that you had a healthy big baby girl. Whether you had a c-sec or not does not matter......... you had a baby! Not every woman can say that!

TrinaBeingTrina said...

I always said there is only one thing I regret not learning from my mom before she died. That was learning to crochet :-(

Why do women say that they feel less of a woman if they ONLY had a c-section! That is crazy. Carrying a child for 9 months and going thru the labor pains is enough for me. I remember being in so much pain I didn't care how the hell they got her out of there, just as long as she was out!
I was actually falling asleep in between labor pains and some rude ass nurse said to me " Excuse me, we interupt this nap to have a baby, will you please push" I told her "I'm to tired to cuss you out right now but wait until I see your ass later" Needless to say the rest of my hospital stay I did not see her.

Ladynay said...

Fuzzy, I came really close to getting some of those too! Dang, now I wish I did! :-( Told you and crocheting is not hard.

TZ, lobster tails???Not surprised. I ain't mad at you! LOL

I forgot your an artsy type sometimes. I want a quilt when your life slows down...like that will be any time soon. :-(

Yeah and the good portion you was there consisted of consuming some Micky D's fries up in my room knowing I couldn't have none! You and Babydaddy will hear about it forEVER! Yall could have slipped me one or two on the sly! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

Trina, you can always learn. It's not hard to do.

Because that is just how you feel, or at least I did. I know now that it's not that big of a deal but right after it happens it just feels that way. It's like your being prepped for months for the beautiful thing to happen and a portion of that seemingly gets taken away.

I am mad you was sleeping when it was time to push! You must have been some next level of tired!!! Dang!

That nurse knew better! LOL
