FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK!!!!!!

I went to do my volunteer work at the orthopedic clinic this morning and while the supervisor I shadow was doing her work she lifts her head up and says something like...

"Have you heard from the APC?" (Athletic Performance Center where I applied for the internship, the clinic and APC are apart of the same company)

"Yes, So and so called me and since I want to do PT he is going to have the PT guy call me"

"You want to be a paid aide here? Most of our aids got in to PT school so the mass exodus is coming. We need aides to start ASAP."

*me totally unexpecting that question, I thought she was just asking to make convo* "Uhhhhh, wow!" (Is that gonna be my standard answer for stuff like this? That was my response to the Hospital manager! LOL) "Oh wait, I start summer school next week"

"When and what time"

I tell her.

"That works for me, you'll just work till 6. Will that interfere with daycare?"

"No, I normally get off at 6. *still overwhelmed* Let me meditate on all this."

"Yeah, think about it and let me know." Then goes on about the way I need to go on the website, do this that and the other, then she'd let HR know and we can get started. Didn't I just say I gotta sort this out? LOL!

"Okay"

She continues to work on her patient and pimps the job to me on the sly! Now here is my current problem. The hospital wants me to work there. The aide is leaving the last part of June and I'd probably start sometime in July. The ortho clinic wants me to work there and they want me to start ASAP. FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK! I don't know how I am going to decide where to go! I don't know the pay for the ortho clinic and I know a range for the hospital. Both the clinic and hospital are close to home. Both jobs give me experience. One good thing about the ortho clinic is that obviously their aides get into PT school, hence most of them leaving soon. Also, every therapist has there own aide, some times 2 PT's may share an aide. At the hospital, there is one aide for all the PT's. But the hospital is more of a cool, more laid back, more of a family type atmosphere. I know and get along with the majority of the staff there already.

*sigh*

I don't know what I'm going to do.

You came dangerously close to using my copyrighted curse word. :oD

Can I rub your head (or booty)? For good luck of course. Don't be such a pervert!

This is a good thing right? Take a couple of deep breathes. What's the holdup with the ortho clinic? You have a confirmed job offer to get you some experience and your foot in the door of the profession you want for a career. A paid job I might add.

See if there's anyway to speed up the process and get some info from the ortho clinic. Otherwise you have to decide if you want to put off something that's in the bag with defined variables for something with a lot of undefined variables. You run the risk of putting off the hospital manager and having your offer revoked or developing bad will at the workplace.

I would say think long and hard but you may not have too much time so think quickly and hard. Oh, can I have $5? Thanks in advance.

I think its great that you're getting offers all the way around. Take a moment and pray on which to go with. God won't steer you in the wrong direction.

There is no hold up with the ortho clinic, they want me on staff ASAP, the only 2 things holding me back is figuring out if I want to work there vs. the hospital and potential pay difference.

I don't go back to the ortho clinic until next Thursday morning so I have at least a week to figure whether to accept or decline the offer.

Monique, your right.I gotta go into the "closet" and have a conversation.

Decicions, decisions indeed. Where are Dionne Warwick and her psychic friends when you need them??!! lol lol

Both sound like such fabulous opportunities. I'm keepin my fingers crossed that the pay for the ortho clinic is comperable to the hospital so you can go ahead and bounce. It sounds like you have a really good working relationship with the PT already and that person obviously sees something in you to keep giving you all this info.

In anycase....girl you are on you're way! Good luck!

Argal, I go to the hospital today and there is a PT there who's boyfriend works at the ortho clinic so best believe I'll be talking to her and the hospital aide today!

I sit here at work and sorta don't believe that no matter what choice I make, pretty soon this will not be my bread maker. It's crazy!
